I had the chance to meet one of Italy's greatest engineers, Giotto Bizzarrini.
Bizzarrini was born in the small coastal town of Quercianella near Livorno in Tuscany in 1926.
After a short stint as a teacher, Alfa Romeo offered him a job as a testdriver.
Bizzarrini's insightful engineering helped produce a very efficient platform for the Giulietta Sprint.
Ferrari hired him in February 1957. The result would be the 250 GTO the most famous Ferrari ever.
His dearest creation is the Bizzarini 5300 Strada.
On the picture (29 okt 2005) you’l see Mr Bizzarini (and I) near my Giulietta Sprint.
